Frequently asked questions

  • Acupuncture involves the insertion of fine, sterile needles into specific points on the body to promote the body’s own healing processes. By stimulating the nervous system, enhancing circulation, and balancing energy flow, acupuncture helps regulate physiological processes and restore harmony.

  • Most clients find acupuncture to be a gentle and relaxing experience. The needles are extremely thin, and any sensation during insertion is usually brief and minimal. You are always in control of your treatment. I’ll guide you through the process, check in regularly, and make adjustments as needed to ensure your comfort.

  • Acupuncture can address a wide range of health concerns, including pain management, stress, digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, sleep disturbances, and more. It’s a holistic approach that supports both physical and emotional well-being.

  • While IMS and dry needling focus on releasing tight muscles, acupuncture is a broader practice that also addresses underlying imbalances in the body. Both techniques use needles, but acupuncture integrates a more holistic framework for overall health.

  • Treatment costs range from $100 to $150, depending on the type and length of the session. Please see the services & pricing page for more details.

  • I don’t offer direct billing at this time. Please let me know if this is a barrier to treatment.

  • I understand that childcare can be a barrier to accessing treatment. Infants can be accommodated in the treatment space, and older children can entertain themselves in an adjacent room. Please let me know in advance if you plan to bring your child, so I can ensure the space is ready to meet your needs. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome. Again, please let me know in advance.

  • The clinic is not wheelchair accessible and may be difficult to access for those with reduced mobility, as there are two flights of stairs. While no pets live in the household, the space is pet-friendly, which may be a consideration if you have allergies.

  • Come as you are! It is recommended to eat a light meal 1-2 hours before treatment, particularly if you are prone to light headedness or dizziness.

  • You can wear whatever you’d like. Depending on the acupuncture points chosen for treatment, you may be asked to disrobe (to your comfort level) in privacy. Sheets are used for draping, similar to a massage treatment.

  • You will find information about the clinic location and parking in your booking confirmation email. Please get in touch with any questions.

  • After your session, it’s best to stay hydrated and avoid strenuous activity. Some people feel relaxed, while others feel energized. Listen to your body and give yourself time to integrate the benefits of the treatment.
